Welcome!

We’re a mom & pop craft brewery and taproom, hidden in the vibrant neighborhood of Parkville, Hartford. Our tap list features a constantly rotating list of craft beers brewed onsite, from our flagship Kölsch- style ale to bold, barrel-aged offerings and everything in between. We also feature guest taps of hard ciders, wines, cold-brew coffee and teas. We offer cans and growlers to go.

Housed in the former Hartford Rubber Works building, which manufactured the country's first pneumatic tires for automobiles and bikes, the taproom pays tribute to its industrial roots. Massive machinery from the turn-of-the-century sit among the barstools and picnic tables, and pieces of Hartford history grace the walls. We are proud to be in such a historic neighborhood and grateful to be one of the may amazing Connecticut breweries. You'll usually find a food truck outside, games inside, live music, pop-up events and more. Welcome to 'Hartford's Living Room!’

Our Beers

Our taproom beer menu features a constantly rotating selection of house beers, poured direct from tank to your pint. Our philosophy is simple - we brew what we love with the hope that you will love it too. We offer a range of styles specializing in classic German beers, New England IPAs, Sour Ales, and Barrel-aged beers. In addition to our rotating tap list, we have many of our beers available to-go in 4-packs and growlers. You can also find us on tap at several local restaurants & bars, on elves of many Connecticut package stores, and on draft at Dunkin’ Donuts Stadium for the Hartford Yard Goats games!

Golden Messenger Kölsch

15 IBU, 4.5 SRM, 4.3% ABV

Our Brewer’s favorite style, this classic, cold-fermented German ale is brewed with Cologne malt imported from Germany. Lightly hopped with Hallertau Mittelfruh hops and conditioned for 3 weeks. A clean, crisp and refreshing lighter-style craft beer.

Factory Lager

15 IBU, 4 SRM, 5% ABV

Brewed in the style of a Munich Helles Lager, this beer boasts bright flavors, a light body yet full mouth feel. Subtle hop profile from traditional Noble Saaz hops balanced with bready malt flavors.  Germany’s answer to the ever-popular Czech Pilsner.

Summer Dusk Hefeweizen

7 IBU, 7SRM, 5.7% ABV

This German wheat beer showcases a flavorful balance of banana and clove that is unique to the yeast this beer is fermented by. We brewed this beer with 60% wheat, so expect a slightly tart, full - bodied beer. Higher carbonation brings pleasant aromas to your nose while your palate is overtaken by malt sweetness and a little acidity to make an easy drinking beer.

Hartford Pale Ale (HPA)

30 IBU, 7 SRM, 6% ABV

One malt, red wheat and hopped with an abundance of Mosaic and Wakatu. Hazy and full bodied with a dynamic floral and tropical fruit profile.

Parkville Punch IPA

20 IBU, 5 SRM, 5.5%ABV

Brewed with pilsner, wheat and monastique malts creating a drier, “lighter”, orange  juice influenced IPA. Generously hopped with Hallertau Blanc, Loral and Citra hops giving this beer a unique citrus punch that is sure to bring you back for another.

The Illusionist IPA (Peach and Mango)

20 IBU, 8 SRM, 6.5% ABV

Brewed with Golden Promise malt and Golden Naked Oats. Milk sugar is added to the boil for a soft and sweet mouth feel. Hopped with El Dorado, Idaho 7 and Hallertau Blanc. Double Dry Hopped with El Dorado then fruited with 240 pounds of peach and mango.

Piknick Basket IPA         **On Tap Friday 5/24. In cans Wednesday 5/29**

13 IBU, 8 SRM, 6.5% ABV

Henry, one of our beloved bartenders, came up with this name. Henry can't spell all that well. Piknick Basket IPA is brewed for those easy days that call for a tasty brew and a nice spread. Brewed with 2-row, Oats and Wheat. Hopped aggressively with Mosaic and then dry hopped with Mosaic lupulin powder for that fruity kiss on ya lips.

Five in the Chamber

Thursday, May 23rd

Five in the Chamber is a New Haven, Connecticut based bluegrass band that drives hard and carries a big pick.  They respect the tradition. They respect the trailblazers. And they respect the renegade outlaws. Our final product is an eclectic balance of American roots music which both reinterprets and redefines the bluegrass songbook. Formed in 2011, the band has spent the last several years building a catalog of music that showcases the group’s strong vocals, musicianship, and passion for genre busting.  The band released their debut album in the Fall of 2013 entitled Live in the Chamber to rave reviews and has recently released a self titled EP.

Chris Ross & The North-min.jpg

Chris Ross & The North

Thursday, May 30th

Ross spent the better part of a decade tucked away on the coast of Maine developing his voice as a writer. Inside the arsenal of tracks he’s penned, one finds dangerous, hard-hitting reflections; stories of love, life and longing, appealing because they’re so real. Tinted with an appetite for self-destruction, his writing style is smooth and eloquent while remaining sincere to genuine grit of experience. When his sonorous vocals found affinity with a band, the evolution cultivated a multifaceted, visceral experience for listeners, an auditory landscape much like that of Maine itself: Humble yet dramatic, severe yet sweet, cold and resonant with a nearby fire throwing heat.

MAMA AINT DEAD-min.jpeg

Mama Ain’t Dead

Thursday, June 6th

Mama Ain’t Dead puts a new spin on American roots music with harmony-driven originals and hot fiddle tunes. Today, the band rambles around New England, making a ruckus in whatever bar, coffeehouse, or festival still celebrates the American folk tradition. Mama keeps the live show fresh, digging into ripping fiddle tunes, honoring old bluegrass standards, or belting out original sing-alongs with 3- and sometimes 4-part harmonies.

Blending rich vocal harmonies with lush orchestrations, Goodnight Blue Moon has created a sound that is steeped in tradition, yet entirely current.  GNBM is known for their energetic, honest, and dynamic live performances, offering a refreshing take on Americana roots music. Awarded Best Roots Act in the 2016 New England Music Awards, and Best Folk/Traditional Act in the 2018 and 2013 Connecticut Music Awards, Goodnight Blue Moon has cemented their place as one of New England's premier groups.

Nico Rivers and the Black Grass

Since hitting the road in 2011, Rivers has released 3 EP and toured throughout the US & Europe including stops at many festivals and events including SXSW, SS Cape May, Club Passim’s Campfire. Our Story

We're Ben and Joy Braddock, crazy kids (now with a kid of our own!) that a long time ago fell in love with each other and fell in love with craft beer. Fast forward 16 years and we're almost three years into owning our beloved craft brewery & taproom in the heart of the Parkville neighborhood in Hartford, CT.

We jumped the corporate ship, deciding life is too short to not pursue our dreams and spend our days doing what we love. Over 10 years ago, Ben quit his day job when his cubicle walls started closing in on him. It was a “now or never” kinda moment. He swallowed his pride and got his start in the industry cleaning kegs. As a brewer in both a production and brewpub setting, he learned the ins and outs and discovered his own brewing style.

More recently, Joy quit her corporate gig to focus 100% on building a taproom experience that invites community, family and friends to not only enjoy our craft beer but also enjoy the space through other experiences like live music, pop-up maker fairs,  beer dinners and barre classes. She is excited to bring the community an ever-evolving lineup of unique events that bring people together.

Together, we invite you to come join us for a beer. You'll most likely find one of our faces behind the bar. Come say hello!
