**We will be closed Sunday, April 21st for the holiday**

We’re a mom & pop craft brewery and taproom, hidden in the vibrant neighborhood of Parkville, Hartford. Our tap list features a constantly rotating list of craft beers brewed onsite, from our flagship Kölsch- style ale to bold, barrel-aged offerings and everything in between. We also feature guest taps of hard ciders, wines, cold-brew coffee and teas. We offer cans and growlers to go.

Housed in the former Hartford Rubber Works building, which manufactured the country's first pneumatic tires for automobiles and bikes, the taproom pays tribute to its industrial roots. Massive machinery from the turn-of-the-century sit among the barstools and picnic tables, and pieces of Hartford history grace the walls. We are proud to be in such a historic neighborhood and grateful to be one of the may amazing Connecticut breweries. You'll usually find a food truck outside, games inside, live music, pop-up events and more. Welcome to 'Hartford's Living Room!’

Our Beers

Our taproom beer menu features a constantly rotating selection of house beers, poured direct from tank to your pint. Our philosophy is simple - we brew what we love with the hope that you will love it too. We offer a range of styles specializing in classic German beers, New England IPAs, Sour Ales, and Barrel-aged beers. In addition to our rotating tap list, we have many of our beers available to-go in 4-packs and growlers. You can also find us on tap at several local restaurants & bars, on elves of many Connecticut package stores, and on draft at Dunkin’ Donuts Stadium for the Hartford Yard Goats games!

UPDATED April 16, 2019

Golden Messenger Kölsch

15 IBU, 4.5 SRM, 4.3% ABV

Our Brewer’s favorite style, this classic, cold-fermented German ale is brewed with Cologne malt imported from Germany. Lightly hopped with Hallertau Mittelfruh hops and conditioned for 3 weeks. A clean, crisp and refreshing lighter-style craft beer.

Summer Dusk Hefeweizen ** On tap Friday 4/19, can release 4/24**

7 IBU, 7SRM, 5.7% ABV

This German wheat beer showcases a flavorful balance of banana and clove that is unique to the yeast this beer is fermented by. We brewed this beer with 60% wheat, so expect a slightly tart, full - bodied beer. Higher carbonation brings pleasant aromas to your nose while your palate is overtaken by malt sweetness and a little acidity to make an easy drinking beer.

Plushnugget Sour Ale with Passionfruit & Blood Orange

20 IBU, 5 SRM, 5.5% ABV

The next beer in our funky, rotating Roald Dahl sour series is a citrus bomb bursting with orange, tropical flavors from blood orange and passionfruit puree and sweet orange peel. Dry hopped with El Dorado and Hallertau Blanc to enhance the bright citrus notes found throughout. Well balanced and totally crushable.

Razztwizzler Sour Ale with Raspberry and Lime **Can and Tap Release Friday, 3pm**

20 IBU, 5.9% ABV

Brewed with Pilsner, wheat and milk sugar. This new release pours a hazy purple-ish pink with a strong raspberry aroma with a touch of sweetness. This is one of our more tart sours from the addition of more than 240 pounds of raspberry, which is a naturally tart fruit. To kick this beer up a notch we added 10 pounds of lime peel for a hint of zesty citrus character that is the perfect compliment to the warming days of spring.

Hartford Pale Ale (HPA)

30 IBU, 7 SRM, 6% ABV

One malt, red wheat and hopped with an abundance of Mosaic and Wakatu. Hazy and full bodied with a dynamic floral and tropical fruit profile.

Local 35 IPA

61 IBU, 8.5 SRM, 6.2% ABV

A hazy IPA brewed with Golden Promise malt and red wheat. A heavy dose of Citra and Amarillo hops added at the end of the boil and dry hop for a fragrant aroma of citrus, tropical fruit, apricot and peach.

Tropical Chew DIPA

20 IBU, 6 SRM, 8.1% ABV

This hazy double IPA features Hallertau Blanc, Idaho Gem, and Palisade hops. Bursting aromas of juicy fruit, gooseberry, mango, lemon are balanced with a full body of tropical sweetness.

Behind the Rocks Smoked Red Ale

16 IBU, 14.5 SRM, 6.3% ABV

Based on a traditional German Rauchbier with the smoke dialed way back. Red in color, hints of caramel, biscuit and a slight smokiness from the addition of beechwood smoked malt. Hopped with Hallertau Mittelfruh for a clean noble hop profile.

Cold Drip Coffee Stout

32 IBU, 40 SRM, 6.8% ABV

Brewed in collaboration with Story and Soil Coffee of Hartford, this robust, silky smooth American-style stout is brewed with 7 malts, oats and hopped delicately with German Northern Brewer. We added 8 gallons of cold brewed coffee, Evin Gomez coffee beans and Ecuadorian cocoa nibs to bring this beer to life. Full bodied, roast forward beer with notes of tropical fruit, dark chocolate and tangerine.

Wise Old Moon

Thursday, April 18th

Defined by the road-worn vocals and authentic lyrics of singer/songwriter Connor Zane Millican, Wise Old Moon embodied the sound of indie folk & Americana with their debut album ‘The Patterns’, while later albums incorporated electric and roots/rock elements that widened their fan base. Wise Old Moon has released 2 full length albums and toured all over the US.  The band’s recent release ‘Factory Town’ is inspired by an industrial neighborhood in Hartford where Millican lives.

Grain Thief

Thursday, April 25th

Grain Thief is a 5-piece americana string band from Boston, MA. The group comprises Patrick Mulroy (guitar, vocals), Zach Meyer (mandolin, vocals), Michael Harmon (bass, vocals), Tom Farrell (lead guitar), and Alex Barstow (fiddle). Their debut EP Animal was recorded and released in November 2015. The record showcases the band's roots in folk, bluegrass, and old time music. In 2017, the band began a residency at the Burren pub in Somerville and continues to entertain the Wednesday crowds to this day. From their perch in Massachusetts, the band has toured heavily in New England and made forays in the West, South, and East Coast.

Shine Delphi

Thursday, May 2nd

Shine Delphi travels this world with a resonator guitar and a few words to share. Born in Pennsylvania, raised in California, and rebirthed in the crescent city of New Orleans. Shine is a performer that will leave you feeling good and wanting more. From his technical ability on the guitar to his simple yet touching lyrics, he is an act that spans many genres and all ages. He has opened for such bands as The Carolina Chocolate drops, Reverend Peyton's big damn band, and The Tony Rice unit just to name a few. Oh yeah, and there's also that laugh... you can't forget that! HA!

Bluesman Felix Slim

Thursday, May 16th

One of Spain’s leading blues musicians, born in the North African enclave of Ceuta-Cadiz and based nowadays in Brooklyn, New York, Felix Slim is an entirely self-taught multi-instrumentalist and specializes in blues, ragtime and swing from the 1920s to 1940s. Influenced by the Delta, Piedmont and Texas sound, Slim uses slide guitar, fingerpicking and standard and open tunings, and has played his dynamic versions of blues classics and original songs with echoes of flamenco, rebetiko and jazz manouche on seven albums and in over ten countries worldwide.

Five in the Chamber (1).jpg

Five in the Chamber

Thursday, May 23rd

Five in the Chamber is a New Haven, Connecticut based bluegrass band that drives hard and carries a big pick.  They respect the tradition. They respect the trailblazers. And they respect the renegade outlaws. Our final product is an eclectic balance of American roots music which both reinterprets and redefines the bluegrass songbook. Formed in 2011, the band has spent the last several years building a catalog of music that showcases the group’s strong vocals, musicianship, and passion for genre busting.  The band released their debut album in the Fall of 2013 entitled Live in the Chamber to rave reviews and has recently released a self titled EP.

If you are an Americana/Roots Rock/Folk artist and are interested in playing at our Twang Thursdays series, please send your bio and links to music/performances to Connor Millican at wiseoldmoon@gmail.com.

Our Story

We're Ben and Joy Braddock, crazy kids (now with a kid of our own!) that a long time ago fell in love with each other and fell in love with craft beer. Fast forward 16 years and we're almost three years into owning our beloved craft brewery & taproom in the heart of the Parkville neighborhood in Hartford, CT.

We jumped the corporate ship, deciding life is too short to not pursue our dreams and spend our days doing what we love. Over 10 years ago, Ben quit his day job when his cubicle walls started closing in on him. It was a “now or never” kinda moment. He swallowed his pride and got his start in the industry cleaning kegs. As a brewer in both a production and brewpub setting, he learned the ins and outs and discovered his own brewing style.

More recently, Joy quit her corporate gig to focus 100% on building a taproom experience that invites community, family and friends to not only enjoy our craft beer but also enjoy the space through other experiences like live music, pop-up maker fairs,  beer dinners and barre classes. She is excited to bring the community an ever-evolving lineup of unique events that bring people together.

Together, we invite you to come join us for a beer. You'll most likely find one of our faces behind the bar. Come say hello!
